Members of the Friends of Pickerings Pasture:
• Take an active part in the care, control and development of the reserve.
• Aid the Parks and Countryside service, through involvement in projects that help maintain, develop and promote the reserve.
• Support public and educational activities on the reserve.
The Friends meet once a month at Pickerings Pasture Visitors Centre. At these meetings we decide what help is needed, with events and activities, as well as planning ahead. We hold an AGM each year.
The Friends also organise social activities, like days out bird watching, at least twice a year. The FoPP are always looking for new members. Just turn up at a meeting or give your name, address and telephone number to the Ranger and we will contact you. You can also contact us with an email through this website.
The Friends of Pickerings Pasture are involved in a wide range of public events and projects at Pickerings Pasture LNR and Hale Duck Decoy Nature Reserve to both promote these wonderful wildlife sites and to raise funds to contribute to the development and protection of them for visitors now and into the future.
The FoPP volunteer thier time to get involved in tasks and activities such as planting, cutting back, upkeep of the bird hide and nest box building. The FoPP also raises funds to purchase bird food and looks after the bird feeding stations.
