Events Volunteers
The FoPP get involved in all types of events and projects, both at Pickerings Pasture and Hale Duck Decoy.
- They ran a Fun Dog Show for four consecutive years, raising funds for their winter bird feeding stations.
- With the Ranger, they planned and organised a Country Fayre funded by an Awards For All grant.
- They developed the Gamekeepers Cottage, at Hale Duck Decoy, and historical information relating to the site, with a Lottery Heritage Initiative Grant.
- They organised a Memories Event at the Visitors Centre, related to the Gamekeepers Cottage Project.
- They have helped build, repair and put up bird boxes at Pickerings Pasture and the Decoy.
- They have helped to plant hundreds of trees and bulbs.
- They help maintain the hides and the area around them at Pickerings Pasture and the Decoy.
- They helped design and build a new hide at Hale Duck Decoy: the Tom Johnston hide.
- They have funded, sort and gained sponsorship for, and maintained, regular bird feeding at Pickerings Pasture and Hale Duck Decoy.
- They have been regularly involved in clearing, cutting back, tyding up and painting activities at both Pickerings Pasture and the Decoy.
- They were involved in gaining sponsorship and planning for the new Pickerings pathway, along the river side.
- They have actively supported many HBC events at Pickerings Pasture and guided walks at Hale Duck Decoy.
