Guided Walks

walk
Gathering for a Walk

The Ranger guides people to the Hale Duck Decoy, starting at Pickerings Pasture Visitors Centre and following the path of the Mersey Estuary onto privately owned land  before, eventually, crossing the decoy moat.

Guided walks take place on a regular basis and are advertised in the Halton Borough Council, Parks and Countryside Service, EVENTS brochure, which is published in April of each year. Groups of between 15 and 20 can make private arrangements to visit the Decoy, through the Ranger. Telephone 0151 425 4760 for further details.                      Image

As advertised in the EVENTS brochure, the Pickerings Pasture Ranger also leads other local walks. These include yearly walks through Hale Village, to the lighthouse and to Runcorn Bridge from Pickerings Pasture, to see the starlings display before roosting.
