FoPP concerns about wildfowl shooting PDF Print E-mail

The Friends of Pickerings Pasture and Hale Duck Decoy have had confirmed that the Halton Wildfowlers have bought the lease, owned by the Dutchy of Lancaster, to shoot on the foreshore of the estuary, from Runcorn Bridge to Oglet Lane , in Speke. They have been given consent, by Natural England, to shoot till February 20th, this year. They have applied for a further consent to shoot, over this area, for the next five years. The FoPP are totally opposed to people being allowed to walk along the foreshore, just below Pickerings Pasture, Hale Marsh and Hale Duck Decoy, carrying loaded guns. We have written to Natural England to express our very great concerns.

If you are unhappy, like us, about people legally carrying loaded guns across Pickerings Pasture and in the area generally, and people shooting the wildfowl, that we love to watch, and the health and safety issues relating to guns used in or near public places, then please write or ring Natural England, before the end of February. We wrote to Natural England, Whitworth Street, Manchester, M1 6LT.
