thumb_fopp_at_decoy_7.7.10_011Members of the FoPP stopped for lunch and a well earned rest, after working hard to clear overgrown areas of Hale Duck Decoy, around the cottage and to the fronts of the three bird hides.

There will be a further Project Day, at the Decoy, on August 20th. Do contact us, through this website, if you think you'd like to help out or come along to our next meeting, at Pickerings Pasture Visitors Centre, on August 7th, 1.30-3.30pm.

On arrival, we found that the bench seating was all most hidden by the growth of grasses, nettles and bramble. It took a few hours of strimming, cutting, pulling and removing to reclaim the area.

Next time, we'll just have one months growth to tame. The cottage windows need cleaning, as do the information boards around the site and the benches and and history tree door need painting. We'll be making a repair list and plans for the next project day too.
