At the FoPP monthly meeting, on June 19th 2007, at the Visitors Centre, Pickerings Pasture LNR, Emma and Dan, the Parks and Countryside PCSOs, introduced themselves and explained their work and purpose.

They are two of six PCSOs in Widnes and Runcorn, that are linked to the Parks and Countryside in Widnes. Their role is to problem solve, working with the community, dealing with anti social behaviour, rather than crime, They also address the problem of truancy.

They are now regularly visiting Pickerings Pasture, talking to young people when they see them, building relationships, contacting parents if necessary and helping to stop vandalism and unacceptable behaviour on site.

The public can contact them about general concerns, on an answer phone, on 0845 4586383. Calls will be returned within a few days. They can also be contacted about antisocial problems, that need immediate action, on 0845 45 0000. If you see other worrying things happening on and around the reserve you can contact the Widnes Police switchboard on 0151 424 7431. If a crime is being committed call 999.
