Denise Hunt has contacted us regarding her great grandfather, John Murry, who was working as an underkeeper at Hale Hall in 1871. He was born in Ireland. She is researching her family tree.

John Murry lived at Ciss Green, in Hale, in 1871, with his wife Sarah, who came from Weston, Runcorn, his mother Bridget and his first child, Elizabeth. By 1881 he was working as a labourer at an alkai works and living at 12 Greenhall Cottages, Hale Village. He had three more children: John, Thomas and James.

In 1889 his daughter Ada was born. She also lived at Greenhall Cottages and later at Limekiln Cottages, Halebank, with her brother John. Ada was Denises grandmother.

If you can help,  with any further information, we'll pass it on or put you in touch with Denise.
