Three exciting new developments are taking place at the Decoy this year. Apart from the LHI grant funded Game Keepers Cottage project, there is to be a new bird hide, built as the result of a very generous local donation and a web-cam installed by Halton Borough Council.

{mosimage}ImageImage  The Game Keepers Cottage Project will be completed by this Autumn, with the addition of information folders, new Decoy leaflets and interpretation boards, for display at Pickerings Pasture Visitors Centre.

The new bird hide will look out across the marsh, towards Pickerings. It will be largely built off site. Digging out the foundations and the assembly of the structure will take place in July this year, delayed in order to avoid disturbing breeding wildlife.

The web-cam installation has also been delayed till the start of July, for the protection of the wildlife on the Decoy. The process of consultation and feasibility started in 2005. Much of the structural preparation work has already been completed and the final installation will help to bring the special qualities of this site to a wider public audience.
